On Wednesday our Year 8's from room 3 and 4 had a great opportunity to experience college life at our 2 local colleges which had their open days. The bus transported us to Waiopehu College first where students rotated around various classes to view a variety of subjects. Our lovely hosts were Emily and Taylor escorted by Mrs Hillary and they took us to Music, Technology, PE, Japanese and Science. Students could return tomorrow night to view anything they have may have wanted to see more of or missed out in the morning.
In the afternoon we then went to Horowhenua College to experience Art, Science and Home Economics. Our delightful hosts were Alex and Ella. Students thoroughly enjoyed the Science Experiments, working with art and making an open toast pizza in Home Economics. To top of the visit they enjoyed Tip Top Ice cream that was presented to them as we were leaving the Cooking Room.
Here are some pictures from the Open Day. Decisions will need to be made as to which College our Year 8's will attend next year.
