The Great Race

Charlee and Ruby in Room 4 completing the Great Race by quickly researching, their question in depth.

Simon finds the answer to an athlete's menu before presenting on his mini project.

Paige is sequencing the titles in order of  completion so that she can complete the Great Race in time.

Room 4’s OLYMPICS
Room 4, as we are in the second week of the Olympics it is imperative that we understand that this is an important part of our topic of Cultures, Citizenship and Communities. Empathize: To ensure students develop the ability to see the world from different viewpoints in order to understand the diversity of thought and feeling in the world.
Some of us in Room 4 are sport related, others are good at reading and writing and have administrative qualities. There are also some of us who are more knowledgeable about the world who know a lot about different cultures and countries and want to know more about the geographical purposes. Others have qualities for art, colour, numbers and financial matters. Each one of you will be required to use your talents, skills and ideas to complete this race to the finish.
This is a race to see who can complete the 14 parts effectively. We will be applying our key competencies and values of respect, responsibility, kindness, honesty and determination to complete this race before the due date which is Friday 19th midday. This is our Deep Understanding Inquiry implemented into our Literacy and Numeracy Timetable this week.
All work should be published and formatted onto the backs of our recent Science projects, as we are reusing our resources. The criteria is
A.      All work is to be presented as an eye-catching project
B.      Well set out (Balanced) and edited for our audience and community
C.      Be creative, innovative and Be Inspired!
The race starts once you have completed number 1.

Remembering Mrs Hodge

Today a memorial was held for our favourite Extension teacher Mrs Barbara Hodge. There were many experiences mentioned and remembered and told by her family as she was an inspiration to us all.

Some of the members in her Maths and Literature classes were present and helped at the reception by serving refreshments to family friends and guests who had come near and far.

Pictured below are photos of Extension students with Mrs Hodge's children Sarah and Julian who encouraged our students to think as Barabara would have wanted us to. Legend!
