Ohau School Cross Country

Today at 11.30 Team 2 were determined to complete the School Cross Country because of the weather forecast predicted for tomorrow.

We set up at Morning Tea and at 11.30 teachers and staff went to their marshalling spots. Take your marks and the Year 5 boys were off for their 2 laps around the Domain.

This followed with the Year 5 Girls, Year 6 Boys and Year 6 Girls. Parents and supporters cheered on the Ohau speedy Ohau Runners. When the Year 6 Girls completed their race it was time for the Year 7 and 8 runners to get ready set and go. This year because the Bush was so wet and dangerous it was replaced with the road circuit, to some was very arduous. First the Year 7 Boys went followed by the Year 7 Girls, Year 8 Boys and the Year 8 Girls.

The rain held off and there was plenty to be proud of this being the last school cross country for all of the Year 8 students. The pacesetters were recorded and now those who made the top 4 will be able to participate and contribute at the upcoming Inter-school competition which is held at Poroutawhao School next week. Here are a few of the memories made for our runners.
